Mr. Charles Peel was found dead in his Bananastan bungalow on Saturday. Peel's death came as a result of multiple stab wounds in his abdominal rind. Police are investigating Peel's death as a murder and they have named Peel's girlfriend Chiquita Banana as a person of interest. Ms. Banana could not be reached for comment.

Peel was the chairman and CEO of Peel's, a chain of used car dealers. His work earned him a mixed reputation in the community. Reporting from Banana Weekly confirmed that a startingly high number of the cars from Peel's would break down within the first year of purchase. Peel successfully pushed most of the liability for the used cars onto the manufacturers in Lemon Isle.

Many in the community held Peel with high regard for his regular, large charitable contributions to a variety of causes. Perhaps most notable were his massive donations to scientific institutions developing new treatments for Panama Disease. Active in politics, Peel was also the largest donor to the reelection campaign of Senator Y. Ellow.

Mr. Peel began dating movie star Chiquita Banana early last year after the two met at a fundraiser for Bananastan intercity schools. Peel's butler Jerome Sweet was appalled at the notion that Ms. Banana could have played a part in Peel's death. "If the police hadn't found her peel prints on the murder weapon and one of her designer stickers at the scene of the crime I wouldn't believe it. She seemed to truly love Mr. Peel."

Sweet had been out of the house running errands at the time of the murder. He returned to a home filled with police. The neighbors called for help after hearing a loud crash and screams coming from the Peel residence. A nearby stoplight camera took photos of Ms. Banana running a red light minutes after the police were called. She was heading away from the scene of the crime.

Banana is best known for her role as Princess Leafa in Starch Wars. She has spent the last few months shooting a made for tv film about Harrieta Musa, wife of Bananian revolutionary Franklin Musa. Banana Public Broadcasting has already announced reshoots and that Chiquita Banana will not be part of the final release of Harrieta Musa: Mother of Bananian Freedom.

Charles Peel was one of the wealthiest bachelors of Bananian society. With no children or close family to leave his fortune to, his attorney has disclosed that his wealth will be distributed to various charities in line with his will.
